  • A toy skateboard I created featuring Tony Hawk's logo and the logos of other top skate board brands wasn't really a new creation. It was an opportunity I spotted for the toy company to apply a simple strategy to enhance an existing product and create a new line. This resulted in additional international sales of multi-millions for a product line that had appeared to be exhausted.
  • The simple engagement device I developed for marketing PurePoint Golf's training DVDs. In a head-to-head test with nothing else changed, this simple addition brought in $3 for every $1 produced by marketing that didn't include the engagement device. Best of all, the campaign I designed employing this device is evergreen, so my client can use and profit from it again and again.
  • A viral marketing campaign I created for my own ebook, "Power Copywriting for the Internet". Do a quick Google search and you'll see that there are 145,000 web sites referencing it. If just 10 people access it from each of those sites that's 1,450,000 prospects who see the link back to my web site. Imagine what just a fraction of that kind of traffic could do for your business.
  • An advertising "control" I created for one of the premier journals of the publishing industry, Book Marketing Update, took on and beat all other marketing pieces for over 9 years. Most controls are lucky to last 6 months, but I simply made a couple of strategic changes to the way the journal was positioned and turned a lukewarm piece into a landmark piece.

  • Using a strategy any business can apply to discover hidden assets, I helped another client produce remarkable results. Nuts and bolts — how the program works

The Strategic Edge Coaching Program is a comprehensive 12-month program. During these twelve months, I'll work with you personally — you won't get handed off to a newly trained coach like some coaching companies do. Each interaction is different, depending on your unique needs. But as an overview, here's how the program works.

The Marketing Strategy Audit and Makeover. To begin the process, we'll meet together in San Diego for two days.

Together, we'll go through a set of innovative exercises designed to reveal precisely what you're doing with your marketing... what's working... what isn't working... where you stand in comparison to your competition... your vision for your company... subtle and not so subtle issues that are hindering your growth and profitability... and much more.

We'll also do an in-depth review of all your marketing materials. This includes advertising campaigns, web sites, emails, social media, brochures, direct marketing, PR campaigns, call scripts, sales methodologies, and all other sales and marketing methods and documents.

Toward the end of the first day, we'll take a break and I'll deliver your Strategic Marketing Makeover. This consists of a series of simple, "fast action" steps you can take right now to substantially increase your sales and profits. Each step will be spelled out in complete detail so you can implement it quickly and with just a minimum of effort.

If you aren't thoroughly convinced that this Strategic Marketing Makeover alone will realistically increase your profits by a minimum of 40%, just say the word, we'll stop the process, and the program won't cost you a dime. Plus, I'll pay you an additional $2,500 to make up for your trouble.

Otherwise, we'll continue and by the end of this audit, we'll have a comprehensive picture of precisely where your marketing stands today. And most importantly, we'll have clearly identified lucrative "opportunity gaps" you can capitalize on both in the short term and long term.

Crafting Your Optimum Marketing Strategy. Using my proprietary 5-step strategy development process called IDEAS, we'll work together to craft an optimum marketing strategy that outperforms all other strategies. The activities of this session are a bit difficult to describe, because they depend on your specific situation. But the IDEAS process is a fun, exhilarating, and deadly accurate set of brainstorming tools that yields powerful results.

Input to this process includes all the information gathered during the Marketing Strategy Audit plus product pricing information, your current product positioning, identifying those products that perform the best, identifying and possibly eliminating products that aren't performing well, proper market segmentation, identifying substantial market segments you may be overlooking, bundling or unbundling your products and services to maximize sales — and much more. The end product of this process is an Optimum Marketing Strategy guaranteed to increase your profits substantially.

Selecting the Ideal Marketing Tactics. Now that we've developed your Optimum Marketing Strategy, we'll select the exact marketing tactics you should use to get the results you really want. We'll examine all marketing avenues, including every online and offline marketing method, and select only those "sweet spot" tactics that deliver the most impact for the least amount of time and effort. And deliver particularly well in tough economic times.

Creating Your Action Plan. Now we're ready to create a powerful, but simple marketing plan you can immediately put into action. Most importantly, I will hold you accountable for taking action on the things you've agreed to do. I'll remind you of what you've committed to do… recommend modifications and improvements… and even prod and pester you if that's what it takes to make sure you take the committed, consistent action necessary to reach your goals.

Unlimited Email and Phone Access. Opportunities and challenges don't always occur on a set schedule. So you'll get my private email address and phone number where you can contact me at any time. Because I'm committed to doing everything possible to help you increase your sales and profits, this part of our work together is unscheduled and unlimited.

The fee for The Strategic Edge Coaching Program is a retainer of $25,000 plus 20% of the additional profits you generate as a result of the marketing strategies and tactics I help you develop. This means the majority of my fee is paid only after you've banked your profits.

The retainer is broken into six payment as follows: $10,000 upon signing our agreement, then $3,000 per month for five consecutive months, starting 30 days after the initial payment.

To qualify for this program, your company must have annual revenue of at least $1 million. However, some exceptions may be made for smaller companies that are poised for fast growth.

Most importantly, you must be committed to producing results during the one-year period we'll be working together. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that real results come from a combination of the right game plan and taking action. I'll provide the complete game plan, but you must be committed to taking the action to produce the results you really want.

With that in mind, in order to determine whether you're a good fit for the program, you'll need to provide me with some background information on your company and schedule a 20 to 30 minute introductory phone call. Based on that call, we'll mutually decide whether it makes sense to work together.
